TICKFAW -- Deceased veterans across America, including in Tangipahoa Parish, were honored Saturday, Dec. 13, during a nationally coordinated wreath ceremony. The ceremony started at exactly 11 a.m. throughout the nation and at the cemetery at Tickfaw. A large crowd of veterans, family members and public officials were in attendance.
INDEPENDENCE -- Independence Alderman Jimmy Gregory says he did not know his residence was not within the town limits until he failed to receive a municipal tax notice this year. Gregory acknowledged during the Dec. 16 special meeting of the board of aldermen that he lives outside the town.
