Rebecca Davis signed a two-year softball scholarship with Southwest Community College on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. She will help the Bears out defensively as a pitcher. During her high school career, she was a 4-year All-District player and she was named a MAIS All-Star her senior season. She will pursue a degree in nursing from the SWCC.
Parish President Gordon Burgess says that several years ago he was asked by a member of the St. Tammany Parish Republican Women to address the organization. He was somewhat taken aback by the request. “I told her that I was honored that she had asked me to speak to the group, but I had to tell her I was a Democrat,” he said.
